After a really long time, we have a new version. Packages for Bionic, Focal, and Groovy are ready to go. For the first time, there is also an official arm64 release. Look at Launchpad CQRLOG repository.
Most changes are done by Saku, OH1KH, and others. Thanks a lot! I added only a few small fixes. Next version I'd like to focus on code cleanup and other small improvements. CQRLOG has many features and it's getting too complicated. I'd like to have an application that will be easy to use.
I spent the whole Saturday trying to create CQRLOG deb packages. It's a real nightmare. I can't spend a whole day creating and testing packages. Do you know anyone who could help us to create Flatpak, Snap and/or Appimage? It would be great to create a new CQRLOG release automatically or only with a few manual steps.
With this new version, CQRLOG has MariaDB as a dependency. I left MySQL because it was really hard to get it to work with data located in the home directory.
You can download the new version and look at the complete changelog in Download section.
It took some time but custom holder is on the roof. Everything took about 4 hours but the holder can handle even multband yagi. Maybe one day... .
I had to put down my multiband vertical because of roof planed roof repair. I've been using it for 14 years and it worked fine. Last years there were some problems with SWR but nothing what I could not fix. It should takes about three months and I'll put it back. New place should be even better, antenna will have new holder and will be higher. Now it was about 25m above the ground and on new holder, it will be around 28m up.
Another nice trip with my youngest son Dan. The OKFF-1952 Nerestský lom was close to our destination. Finally, we made 50 QSO on CW. There are a few photos.
My first activity this year. The OKFF-1571 is about 7km on food from my QTH. We had a sunny day and after a very busy week, I need some time to relax :). I already had LiPol battery charged, packing KX3, EFHW antenna, paddle and other stuff was ready in a few minutes.
After two years as OK7AN I dediced to return to the old callsgin. The new one was good, quite short but I could not get used to it, maybe because I had been using OK2CQR for over 20 years. The decision was made, from 1st of May 2019 I returned to the air with OK2CQR.
We celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovak Republic (Czechoslovakia) on October 28, 1918. I'll be one of the special callsigns on the air. You can get very nice award for QSO with OL100 callsigns. I'll be active as OL100C.
More information about the award is on OKDXF website related to this event.
I had been dreaming about this radio for long time. Finally the dream comes truth and the Elecraft KX3 is on my desk. It takes some time to adapt to a new radio but right now I can say, it has the best receiver I've ever had!
I ordered this excellent QCX QRP TRX from QRP Labs (40m band version) at the beginning of December 2017 and had to wait almost two months but finally got it. Order volume of this kit was (and is) extremely high. You'll get very good radio for very low price. Especially the RX is really good.
