Activity from OMFF-0084 – Lošonský háj

I activated this location during our camping vacation in Slovakia. We spent a wonderful week near Trnava. The camping site was nestled within a forest, and our tent was about 3 meters away from a small river.

There was a lovely OMFF area about 1 km from our campsite, and I took a short trip there with my son, Dan. It took me some time to set up the antenna on the right branch, but I was fortunate to find a higher point about 8 meters above the ground. The signal propagation wasn’t too bad. After over an hour, I made 63 QSOs using my KX2, which was putting out 10 watts with an EndFed antenna attached to a tree. I wanted to stay longer, but there were swarms of mosquitoes everywhere!
