I really love CW. When I was 11, I got SWL number and started to listen on HF. I was dreaming while listening that nice music and imagined how amazing could be to understand what they are sending.

Last week I got package with famous Mercury paddle from Bencher. Original author of this paddle is Steven Nurkiewicz, N2DAN. After his dead the rights were sold to Bencher and they serial numbers start at 1000. My paddle has s/n 1200.

Steven's life is very interesting. On 22th of March 1981 was published his life story in Parade magazine which was distributed with many large metropolitan newspapers e.g. Atlanta Journal and The Chicago Tribune. The story was "How a son found his parents after 40 years".

Zen and the Art of Radiotelegraphy

Details
ok2cqr logo
20 January 2010

It is a book by Carlo IK0YGJ, that has just been translated into English. You can download it here: http://www.qsl.net/ik0ygj/enu/index.html

 Carlo says:

This book is the result of several years of experience in amateur radiotelegraphy. It suggests, for the first time, a learning methodology based on an integrated and multidisciplinary approach designed to accompany the apprentice from the first steps in ham radio all the way to a world-class proficiency in telegraphy. The book introduces, ad-hoc tailored to amateur radio, techniques used successfully by competitive athletes, including extreme sports such as free diving, adapted to the difficult process of learning telegraphy.

Very nice work Carlo! Thank you!
